Breezy Summer

This weeks challenge over at Just Add Ink is to Just Add Summer. Now for me it is a real challenge to do a simple card- I love adding heaps of bits and bobs. So I set myself the challenge of doing a real simple card. I've embossed with black a shell from Seaside (retired) on a scrap piece of Whisper White. Embossed again with black the sentiment from Grunge Rock from the current mini. I've then brayered on both pieces, using inks: So Saffron, Peach Parfait, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise. Add a little bit of distressing and Linen Thread and it's done. I think it has a real sea worn effect- I love it!

Beachcomber

This weeks Challenge at Just Add Ink is Just add Embossing. I love embossing some of the ladies have been saying how when they first learned to emboss- they embossed everything gold- I still love embossing in gold- though I don't think I pop it on everything- anymore...
I've heavily embossed a wooden domino in gold and then stamped in Staz On with a small shell from the Seaside Set. Then I've added some hemp twine and a starfish charm ( non- SU). The background I brayered in Pacific Point and Not Quite Navy. Stamped the Starfish from Seaside, masked it and stamped over it with En Francais. I also added DSP- Haiku, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon and some distressing.
I mounted it on to Brilliant Blue- which is only with us for about 6 more weeks, as it's one of the retiring colours. Contact me for the complete list of Retiring Colours or to make your order before supplies run out.

Colour Challenge at Swap Sisters

This weekend Swap Sisters challenged us to use Perfect Plum, Going Gray, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White, what a feminine combination. I've made a card for my sister in law. I've embossed with Dazzling Diamonds onto Perefect Plum Cardstock, matted with Pretty in Pink. And then clear embossed onto whisper White with The Seaside stamp set, then spritzzed the card and added the colours as pastels. FInally I've added a little bow in Whisper White Ribbon. I think the overall effect is very pretty and has a watery soft look like the sea.
