Dee's Class at CA

Last night Dee showed us how to make a pretty flower. I didn't quite have all the right kit- but think the flower's turned out real pretty anyway.
I popped mine onto a notepad, a prety little stocking filler for someone ;-)

Picture Frame- Home Decor Challenge

The new challenge over at Craft Room Challenge is Home Decor- there's so much you could make :-) and the DT have come up with some gorgeous inspiration for you again this week, so make sure you check it out.
I wanted to do a picture frame- decorate the outside etc- but then I saw that my Friend Julia Leece had designed this really cool picture frame from scratch- the whole thing is made from Cardstock!! How clever is that? She very kindly let me make the frame for this challenge, and it's just lovely. Check out her blog Here to see her other stunning designs and to buy the tutorial.

I've used Chocolate Chip cardstock and smooched with Gold Glow to give a luxury feel, then I've decorated with Paper flowers and a fabric Butterfly.

Just Add... Something

This week is my last week as a guest Designer at Just Add Ink and Jo has come up with a great challenge- To use something from your stash that you've has for ages but not used... Now like most paper crafters I was spoiled for choice!!! But I've had this pretty paper for nearly a year in my stash, and the little snowflake brass charm I've probably had in my stash about 8 years!!! Just waiting for some snow. Well as you know we had snow, so perfect opportunity to finally create a snowy Scrapbook page.

Masking Challenge

Wow- your White on White entries last week were all so pretty.
Our next Craft Room Challenge is here and Esther has chosen a technique challenge-Masking- I use this technique a lot, but for this card, I've just done simple masking to create the hills, and to mask the hills when I used a big Pine tree Stamp to create the little pine trees on the hill.
I have to confess that after our polar Antartica weather last week- with snow in our neighbourhood like that not seen for 70 years- I've been inspired to start my snowy christmas cards :-)

Here's some photos of the snow at our house last week, soooo pretty.

You can just see the roof of my studio- looking all snowy.

And I love how the trees look covered in snow- here's a corner of the garden.

Nice and Simple

I've been playing around with all sorts of things this morning- most of which I can't share with you yet! But I can share this card which I've kept nice and simple- but have based it on the sketch over at Stamping 411 this week.

I did find the sketch a little bit tricky, and I really wanted to keep the card more simple than my usual style :-) which I think I managed.
As always I love to know what you think, wishing you all a fab week.

Winter Wonderland

We woke to some snow this morning on local hills- which is a first in the 10 years we've been here in New Zealand- Which means my kids had never seen snow, so we went up the valley to Tunnel Gully to see the snow :-)

Inspired by the really wintery weather I've made this card for the Paper Players CAS Sketch Challenge.
I didn't keep it very simple I'm afraid- I love my glitter and ribbon too much.
I've brayerd and sponged the scene, using masking and the tree from the Lovely as a Tree set (SU). Then I've added some Iridescent white powder and dazzling Diamonds and some green Stickles.
The photo's not the best- light is at a premium, beacuse of the wintery weather. Stay warm.
